Since the founding of the State of Israel, hundreds of thousands of young Jewish men and women have risked their lives and limbs to protect the Jewish people and ensure the security of our homeland.

Our community will be hosting 4 wounded IDF soldiers in May. These soldiers have all been injured in the line of duty. You can see their pictures and read their stories here.

Our Chabad has been very fortunate to be very active with Israel causes since our inception. This year we look forward to having the privilege of hosting 4 wounded soldiers and treating them for a full week of therapeutic and recreational activities in our beautiful city. This group of proud veterans will be visiting Westport for the week of May 17th - 22nd, 2023.

There are simply no words to capture the debt of gratitude we have for these soldiers. We are sure that their visit will have a tremendous impact both on our honored guests and on our community. These heroes get to enjoy comfortable lodging, delicious kosher meals as well as a full program of entertainment and inspiration right here in Westport.

The organization bringing these soldiers to the US is called Belev Echad and we are extremely excited to be partnering with them in this amazing project.

Belev Echad provides financial and emotional support to IDF soldiers who have been injured in terrorist attacks or on duty, and organizes trips to the US. These trips have been proven to help these soldiers tremendously in dealing with PTSD, and encourages these heroes to embrace new challenges despite being wounded.

Belev Echad also provides them with prosthetic limbs, scholarships, counseling, mentoring, jobs, therapy sessions, as well as our love and support.

Chabad is proud to be hosting this group as a small gesture of appreciation for their incredible sacrifices. We are honored to have the opportunity to hear the stories of these courageous individuals. Join us as we show our support and gratitude to them on Sunday, May 21st, 6 pm
